Max is a BCBA. He has been in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis for 7 years.
He started out working in an academic setting as a teacher for high schoolers on the Autism Spectrum. From there, he began to work 1:1 with young adults working on functional life skills and vocational goals. He also has experience working as a clinical supervisor for clients diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Emotional Disturbances. More recently, he has worked closely with families in a home setting to train caregivers and develop programs that can be applied naturalistically in a home setting.
Max received his Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on Autism from Ball State University. He completed his undergrad in Psychology at The Ohio State University.
Max has been working with children his entire adult life. His inspiration for pursuing a career in helping children stemmed from being an older brother. In high school, he interned in an Early Childhood Professions program, since then he has been a teacher at a Montessori school, an after-school coordinator, a classroom aide, a teacher for clients with special needs, a classroom coordinator, a clinical supervisor, and a BCBA. Through these experiences, he has developed a skill set that not only focuses on socially significant clinical outcomes but also develops connections with families and educators alike.
Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time disc golfing. Additionally, he enjoys playing music. He plays a variety of instruments, from the synthesizer, to banjo, to guitar. He enjoys going on hikes with his wife, Mari, and their two dogs- Nikko and Murphy. He and his wife expect their first child, a baby girl, this November.
As part of the leadership team at Triangle ABA, Max utilizes his talents to focus on program development, team building, and clinical excellence in collaboration with Amber Nelms and Tom Maby.
